Cannibal Corpse

O Cannibal Corpse é uma banda muito famosa no cenário underground, principalmente por suas capas horrendas retratando orgias, caveiras animadas, sangue, canibalismo. Seu som é pesadíssimo e podre, sujo, com letras meio de Goregrind.

Trata-se de uma banda de Death Metal formada em Buffalo, Nova York, em 1988, por membros de três bandas de Death Metal de Buffalo: Beyond Death, daonde vieram o baixista Alex Webster e o guitarrista Jack Owen; Leviathan, daonde veio o vocalistaChris Barnes; e Tirant Sin, daonde vieram o guitarrista Rob Rusay, o baterista Paul Mazurkiewicz, além de que o vocalista Chris Barnes também fazia parte dessa banda. O primeiro show ao vivo da banda foi logo no ano seguinte, em 1989, e rapidamente gravaram sua demo "Cannibal Corpse".
Em 1990, a banda assina contrato com a gravadora Metal Blade Records, e nesse mesmo ano, o debut "Eaten Back To Life" é lançado, seguido de "Butchered At Birth" de 1991, e "Tomb of The Mutilated", de 1992.
A banda já teve muitas variações em sua formação através dos anos. Em 1993, o guitarrista fundador Rob Rusay deixa a banda, demitido do grupo, sendo substituído porRob Barrett (Malevolant Creation). Após sua demissão, Rob Rusay se tornou instrutor de golfe.
A troca na formação afetou o embalo que a banda vinha tendo de lançar um álbum por ano. Em 1994, é então lançado o primeiro álbum com o novo guitarrista Rob Barret: "The Bleeding".
Já no ano de 1995, é a vez do vocalista Chris Barnes deixar a banda, e ser substituído por George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (Monstrosity). O resultado é uma banda mais poderosa, e o lançamento de "Vile", em 1996.
Em 1997, mais trocas na formação: o guitarrista Rob Barrett deixa o Cannibal Corpse para voltar a tocar em sua banda anterior, Malevolent Creation, e na banda Solstice. Foi logo substituído por Pat O'Brien para a gravação do álbum "Gallery of Suicide", de 1998.
A formação então permaneceu inalterada nos próximos três lançamentos, "Bloodthirst", de 1999, "Gore Obsessed", de 2002 e "The Wretched Spawn", de 2004. Porém, após o lançamento de "The Wretched Spawn", o guitarrista fundador Jack Owen deixa a banda para dedicar-se à sua segunda banda Adrift. Jeremy Turner (Origin) o substituiu e prosseguiu com a turnê "The Wretched Spawn Tour".
Porém, em 2005, Rob Barrett volta ao seu lugar de origem, e lança com a banda o álbum "Kill", de 2006. Os álbuns seguintes são "Evisceration Plague", lançado em 2009, e "Torture", que chegou em 2012. Em 2013 ainda saiu o live "Torturing and Eviscerating Live".
